An update from Sarah Outen - London 2 London

First Attempt

Sarah made her first attempt to leave Choshi Marina today at 9.47am (Japan time), 1.47 am (UK time). Unfortunately, the wind blowing into the marina is so strong that she was unable to make much progress and had to turn back. Sarah will make another attempt in a few hours time when the wind is due to die down. Click here to read more

An update from Will Millard - King Solomon

The wall outside the Gola Rainforest National Park office brought me here. It is covered in a heavily detailed mural; a hand painted paradise where conical thatched huts converge with dark forest. Every one of the forest's celebrity species makes an appearance: pygmy hippo, python, the picarthes and the elusive leopard. It is as impossible to ignore this wall as it is the huge clock tower and the Kenema town sign, all are covered in rainforest scenes and animals, yet all emanate from the artistic talents of just one man's hand. Mac Mackenney - DRIVEN TO EXTREMES

An update from Sarah Outen - London 2 London

It is stormy outside. The wind has howled and the rain has poured since yesterday evening, really cranking up through the wee hours this morning. I popped down to Choshi Marina to check on Happy Socks ahead of a visit by the Customs Officer. The Coast Guard had already called off their inspection on account of bad weather. Needless to say, there was no inspection by Customs because poor Happy Socks was being boshed about so much on her moorings and the rain and wind so strong that we might not all have come back. I am always in awe of the power of nature – gusts knocking things over and rain sounding like bullets – and the dynamism of it all. The other day when I had some photos taken by visiting photographer James Sebright, it wasn't quite a millpond but it was fairly jolly calm. Click here to read more

A Meaningless Penance? Teaser Clip from Alastair Humphreys on Vimeo.

A Meaningless Penance? - Teaser Video Released!

Wilfred Thesiger was one of the greatest British adventurers and travel writers of the past century. He was one of my earliest heroes. His tough expeditions to the planet's wildest corners and his crisp, sparse writing style both appealed to me in the early days when I first began setting off on adventures of my own.

Lifemarque ambassador - Alastair Humphreys and his companion Leon McCarron- embarked on a journey in search of Wilfred Thesiger, an expedition deep into the fabled Empty Quarter desert (the Rub 'al Khali), attempting to walk 1000 miles through The Sands in Wilfred Thesiger's legendary footsteps.

Ben Saunders - Living on Ice

Lifemarque Ambassador Ben Saunders is attempting the expedition Captain Scott died trying to achieve - the most poignant journey of the golden age of Edwardian exploration remains unfinished to this day. In October 2013, a British team set out to complete Scott's 1500 mile journey to the South Pole and back on foot. Recently one of Ben's short films 'Living on Ice' appeared on Channel 4, featuring the Lifesystems Pulk Harness. Click here to view the video now!
